Privacy Policy for QS Logs
Last updated: 6 September 2026
QS Logs is a personal logging app for tracking events, states and ratings you choose to record.
The app collects nothing. It has no internet access, no account, and no servers. Your logs never leave your device unless you export them yourself.
What the app stores
Everything you log — the tiles you create, the categories and rating scales you define, and the timestamped entries themselves — is stored on your device only.
Because you decide what to track, your entries may include information you consider sensitive, such as medication or pain levels. The app never inspects, transmits or analyses them anywhere but on your device.
What the app does not do
- No internet access. The app requests no network permission at all. You can verify this in the app's permission list on Google Play or in Android's settings.
- No account and no sign-in. The app never asks who you are.
- No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting or advertising. There are no third-party SDKs of any kind.
- No automatic backup. Android's own backup and device-transfer services are explicitly disabled for this app, so your logs are not copied to Google or to a new phone behind your back.
Exporting your data
The app can write two kinds of file, and only when you ask it to:
- A backup (
.json) containing everything, which can be imported back. You may protect it with a password, in which case it is encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key derived from your password. Without that password the file cannot be read — including by us, since we never see it. - A spreadsheet export (
.csv) of your logged entries. This file is never encrypted, in any circumstances, because it is meant to be opened by other software.
You choose where each file is saved using your device's own file picker. If you choose a folder belonging to a cloud service such as Google Drive, Dropbox or Nextcloud, that file becomes subject to that service's privacy policy, not this one. The app itself never communicates with any such service.
If you set a backup password, there is no way to recover it. We cannot reset it, because we hold nothing.
Deleting your data
- Delete individual entries, or delete a tile from its settings screen.
- Erase everything at once from the Your data screen.
- Uninstall the app to remove everything it stored on your device.
- Delete any exported files yourself, wherever you saved them.
Because nothing is ever sent to us, there is nothing for you to request the deletion of, and no account to close.
Children
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
